Searching for Devices in the Gopher for Chrome Web App

Device search in the Gopher for Chrome web app lets Super admin and delegated admin users search devices by serial number, asset ID, or device ID. From the search results list, clicking the View column to select a device and open its Device Info.

Configuration

  • Device search uses the roles setup for Gopher for Chrome for delegated admins.
  • Popups must be enabled as there may be an additional OAuth request box popup when launching the search.

Searching for a Device

  1. Access the Gopher for Chrome web app.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Device Search. A search happens immediately, loading your fleet's first page of devices. 
    Note: If you change the search criteria, the search automatically runs. 
  3. Click Add a filter at the top left of the grid. 
  4. Select Asset Id, Device Id, or Serial Number from the drop-down to search by that item.
    Note: For users searching the Device Cache, there are two additional search filters allowing users to search by Last Enrollment Time and Last Sync. Set the Device Cache toggle, at the top right of the grid, to ON to see these filters.

  5. Enter all or part of the device serial number, asset Id, or device Id in the popup.
    Note: The search must be at least 3 characters.
  6. Click Apply. The applied filter appears in the grid and the matching device appears within the grid.

    Note: Click the X in the filter to remove the filter from the grid.

  7. Click anywhere on a row to navigate to the Basic Information for that specific device.

    Click Add a filter at the top left to search again.

Show/Hide Columns for Device Cache

This feature is only available when the Device cache toggle is set to ON.

  1. From Device Search, click Columns at the left of the page to toggle open the column visibility control.
  2. Deselect or select columns as necessary.
    Hidden columns have a blank checkbox.
    Visible columns have a checked checkbox.
