Centipede requires both the use of hardware and software in order to run successfully.
1. Purchasing the device:
- Amplified Labs does not sell the Arduino Pro Micro, however we have tested several low-cost models and we can confidently recommend this one, available on Amazon.com.
- Optional purchase, but necessary for this solution: USB male to Micro-USB male cable. Any will do. Here’s a cheap one on Amazon.
The Arduino Pro Micro is a small microcontroller that can emulate a keyboard. In order to utilize the hardware, you'll need a free Arduino Create account. Visit http://create.arduino.cc to make an account, and install the local drivers on a Mac or PC. Follow the instructions to download and install the drivers.
- Ensure you have completed the driver installation process before proceeding.
Note: The pins (legs of the Centipede) on the Arduino Pro Micro are not required to use the device, but can be useful for other projects.
