Backpack for Google Drive is a student-centered student portfolio that lets students tie their artifacts to core competencies that define the district’s big-picture goals for graduates. First, student works or artifacts are associated with a specific competency or skill. Then artifacts are used to create a showcase. A showcase is a collection of student work that demonstrates their learning progress and accomplishment.
Ultimately Backpack helps districts strengthen their teaching and learning practices by providing an environment to document, archive, and provide feedback on student artifacts. Monitoring student progress, learning outcomes, and evaluating program effectiveness can also happen with Backpack.
