Alright, so we just saw what it looks like as a visitor to a classroom and now back in the admin console, I'd like to go into the details of what this managed class's admin really is.

0:19
So you can find your admin roles and your custom admin roles under account and then go ahead and just give you the tour of that and then I can show you how to create a role if you wish.

0:37
Alright, so the managed class's admin has already been created and you can see I put in a description to make it obvious but the role can visit a classroom as a temp teacher for two hours.

0:47
That is built into the admin role that they don't lose the admin role after two hours but they lose the access to the classroom that they've clicked on after two hours.
0:59
Now there's no limit to the number of times that they can go through that process of visiting a class. So it's really just a default fail safe to make sure that you don't stay in there as a permanent temporary teacher.

1:12
Alright, now this is a custom role. Let's take a look at who we have in a signed in here. So you can see I've assigned it to two particular individuals and the privileges that are important.

1:24
It's really just one privilege that matters. And that is under classroom. There is one called managed classes. That is the entire set of privileges that the individual has to have.

1:41
Alright, so that's all you've got to have when you're creating the role. Let's go back to take a look at the admins themselves.

1:48
The reason I want to do this is to show you that you can have this you can specify the organizational unit that they have access to.

2:01
So let's clarify that. The default is that you'll have all organizational unit access. That means that this first individual here will be able to visit any classroom where the primary teacher is in any organizational unit.

2:17
However, the second teacher here can only go to the classrooms where the primary teacher of that classroom is in the staff organizational unit.

2:27
Now, this kind of specification could be useful if you have particular campus admins that you'd like to have only have access to visit the classes that are under their purview on their campus or in their particular set of instructors that they monitor.

2:48
And so you can then, if your organizational unit supports it, you can assign specific organizational units to that particular individual and then they will not be able to visit classes that don't fall in those units.

3:03
Where this can get a little interesting is just remember that this is the primary teacher. So I don't know that it'll come up often, but if your primary teacher and a co-teacher are not in the same organizational unit, you'll need to make sure that the primary teacher's organizational unit matches what

3:21
you want to do here. All right. Also keep in mind that you can assign security groups to an admin role.

3:30
So you don't just have to specify individuals. If you're interested in making a security group, have an admin access, then you can lock that group down, make it a security group, and you can manage the role that way.

3:47
All right. Think that is all there is to see in here, except want to just clarify how it looks when you're creating the role in case you've never done it before.

3:57
It's really simple. You're just going to follow along through the step or give it a good name, give it a good description.

4:04
That's clear for other admins who might see it in the list. Then you just look for the privileges, the particular privileges that you want to assign in that role.

4:16
It's just the managed classes under classroom that you need. You can continue and create the role. All right. That's it for now.

4:25
I hope those have been helpful. If you have questions about this process, please don't hesitate to come into our pay-deditions office hours on Wednesdays, or drop us a question at our onboarding at eamplifydite.com.
