Amplified solutions with Support Stacks, GAM on!

There’s nothing more frustrating than not feeling supported in keeping your education technology running smoothly. CDW Amplified for Education’s mission is to enable and empower organizations to get the most out of their Google Workspace. To ensure that administrators, teachers, and students have a positive school experience, we offer the help you need with our Support Stacks service.

You have our support

Customers who have added a support subscription to their purchase of Google Workspace for Education editions, CDW Amplified for Education SaaS tools, or our partner solutions, have always had access to the support, consultancy, migration, provisioning, and training teams. To receive proactive assistance, our specialists were reached via our support ticketing system, email, and live video conferences, and contracted support hours were docked in 15-minute increments. While this is still the process, Support Stacks makes navigating your Google adoption roadmap even more efficient and effective.

Support Stacks are brief engagements with the CDW Amplified for Education support team. They are designed to provide clear deliverables around key topics and common pain points, and utilize less than 10 hours of contracted support time. Also, as the name suggests, the Support Stacks can be stacked on each other, depending on a district’s needs. This new service makes it easier to track how many hours you’re using and what you’re using it on.

Stacks on stacks on stacks

When CDW Amplified for Education’s support team released Support Stacks in March 2021, there were only 3 categories of support. That list has grown to include:

  • Storage Insights: Learn how file storage is used within a Google Workspace for Education tenant, and determine current total usage, top users, and top storage usage cases to help plan for future controls over usage to best fit educational purposes

  • OU Restructure: See your current OU structure, receive a recommendation for OU structure changes, and a completed OU restructure, including moving users as needed

  • GAM Setup & Best Practices: Command line tool that can be used to perform bulk actions, access data, and create automated Google Workspace for Education workflows

  • Google Voice Numbers Cleanup: The removal of unassigned Google Voice numbers to avoid incurring additional billing costs

  • Gmail Security: Optimizing Gmail settings to ameliorate issues with usability and security

  • BigQuery: Exporting Google Workspace log and usage reports into Google BigQuery with Standard and Plus editions

Get in the GAM

You can see the benefit of Support Stacks by taking a deeper dive into the deliverables, so let’s take a look at GAM Setup & Best Practices. GAM is an open-source command-line tool for making changes to projects in the Google Admin console. Because GAM allows for bulk actions, you and your IT staff will no longer have to consume your time manually performing tasks.

Read “GAM and Managing Your Admin Console” for more about what GAM can do

When you choose the GAM stack, not only do you get time back, but CDW Amplified for Education’s support team uses only 1-2 of your contracted support hours:

  • Walk you through super admin access to the Google Workspace tenant
  • Complete GAM installation
  • Provide an overview of best practices and key use cases
Support Stacks are changing the way our customers use their support hours. Let our CDW Amplified for Education team help you find the solution to your pain point. Learn more about support and Support Stacks from our support guide.

If you do not currently have a support subscription or want to add additional hours, contact your regional account manager.
