Need to find a device fast? Let's dive into device search in the Gopher for Chrome app. Device search is your go-to for quickly locating devices.

Click Device Search in the left menu. Your full device list loads instantly. To narrow the list of devices, click add a filter at the top left.

Select a filter type from the drop-down, then enter your search term. Even one character can work, and hit Apply. Add more filters if you need to narrow the device list.

This means you can only use each filter type once per search. Here's a tip. If you start typing directly into the filter field without selecting a filter type first, A drop-down will appear, prompting you to choose a type.

Click on a filter to edit its parameters, or click the X to remove the filter. To dive deeper, click the View icon to open a single device's summary.

The device summary gives you a complete hardware and OS breakdown, and by clicking Edit, you can quickly update fields such as asset ID, annotated user, or location on the fly.

Want to customize your view? To show or hide columns, click the columns tab at the left. The columns with a pencil icon are editable fields, which you can edit directly in the grid or via the device summary.

Click on a column heading to sort, click again to reverse order. For those non-editable columns, hover over any column header and click the menu icon that appears.

You can then pin a column to the left or right, autosize individual columns, or all of them, or reset columns to their default.
