Through settings in the Admin console, Gopher for Chrome can collect and report on device telemetry data (battery health and storage in particular). With the Battery Health Report, you need to enable a few settings in the Admin console to start using this insightful report.
If you cannot get battery health data for devices, the following may be true:
- The Admin console settings may not be configured properly.
- The manufacturer/computer type does not share information about the device.

Report Device Hardware Information
- Navigate to Device settings.
- In the organizational units list, select the OU to apply the setting to. This setting can be set at the Root or for specific OUs.
- Scroll to the User and device reporting section.
- For the Report device Hardware Information setting, select Enable all hardware information reporting.
- Click Save.
Caution: It is possible to select Customize for the Report device hardware information setting. With that selected, you also need to select Customize for the Report device telemetry setting, then check Power status and Storage status in the Customize list.
Report Device Telemetry
- Navigate to Device settings.
- In the organizational units list, select the OU to apply the setting to. This setting can be set at the Root or for specific OUs.
- Scroll to the User and device reporting section.
- For the Report device telemetry setting, select Enable all telemetry reporting.
- Click Save.
