Viewing Comprehensive Device Details

You can access the dedicated information page for any single device directly from the Device Search results.

This detail page provides a comprehensive, context-rich view of the unit, offering depth that goes beyond the search results table. While the main Device Search table is ideal for finding, filtering, and performing in-cell updates and bulk actions on groups of devices, troubleshooting or managing an individual asset requires a more in-depth examination. The single device detail page consolidates all critical data, covering hardware, software, networking, and historical information, into a single, focused location.

Accessing Single Device Details

1. Navigate: Go to the Device Search page.
2. Select: Filter to locate the device you wish to inspect.
3. Drill Down: Click on the row of the device. A new page will load, displaying four tabs of information about the selected device.

The Detail Tabs

This page organizes data into four main tabs for efficient information retrieval:

Device Information

• Purpose: The primary tab for viewing hardware specifications, OS/Chrome details, diagnostic data, and for accessing the Editable Fields.
• Key Information Contained (Example Fields): Serial Number, Model, CPU Model, Chrome Version, Memory Usage, Battery Health, Last Sync, Mac Address.

Device Usage

• Purpose: (Currently reserved for future data)
• Key Information Contained (Example Fields): (Information will appear here once available)

Gopher Buddy Sessions

• Purpose: Displays a log of user sessions recorded via Gopher Buddy.
• Key Information Contained (Example Fields): Session Start Time, Duration, User.

Chrome Audit Events

• Purpose: Provides a chronological log of critical system events related to the device.
• Key Information Contained (Example Fields): Event Type, Timestamp, Details.

Deep Dive: Device Information Tab

The Device Information tab is divided into several focused sections, providing a comprehensive snapshot of the device’s current state and configuration.

Editable Fields

This section allows you to quickly manage the device's administrative annotations.

• To modify these details, click the Edit button.
• This action opens a side sheet, allowing you to update and then confirm changes for the following fields:  Annotated asset ID, Annotated user, Annotated location, Notes, and OU Path.

Hardware Details

List of key physical and inventory information:

• Serial number, Device OU, Device ID, Model, CPU model, CPU architecture, CPU max clock speed, Device status, and Auto update expiration.

Operating System / Chrome Version

Software environment and update status:

• Chrome version, Last stable Chrome version for model, Maximum domain allowed for Chrome version, Last OS update check, Last OS update, Last reboot time, Last sync, Update state, Target OS version, and Update check time.

Hardware Diagnostics & Telemetry Data

Real-time performance and health metrics:

• Boot mode, Platform version, TPM firmware version, Memory usage, CPU utilization, CPU Temperature, Disk space usage, Storage type, Storage Capacity, Storage read speed, Storage write speed, Battery type, Battery health, Last reported battery usage, Graphics adapter, Displays, Design capacity, and Full charge capacity.

Networking

Current and last-known network identifiers:

• Mac address, Ethernet Mac address, Wi-Fi signal strength, Last known IP address, and Gateway.

Returning to Search

To exit the single device view and return to your list of devices, use the Back to Device Search control located at the top left of the Device Summary page.
