Deprovisioning is the final stage of a device’s lifecycle within your management console. This process removes the device from management, releases (or retires) the license, and typically requires the device to be wiped before it can be used elsewhere.
When to Deprovision
You should utilize this workflow when a device is being:
- Retired or recycled.
- Replaced by a similar or different model.
- Donated to a third party.
- Returned to the license pool (if applicable).

Troubleshooting
What if I make a mistake?
Before you click Execute, you can always click Back to change your reasons or Cancel to stop the process entirely. Once executed, deprovisioning is a permanent change to the device's relationship with your management console.
Does this refresh my data immediately?
A snackbar will appear at the bottom of the page once the operation is complete. We recommend using Refresh Cache feature to see the updated Deprovisioned status in your device list.
