15-Day Activity by OU

Caution: As part of our application redesign, the legacy Create Org Unit Reports workflow has been retired. Most of that functionality, including tracking device activity and usage by OU, is now housed within the 15-Day Activity by OU report detailed below.

The 15-Day Activity by OU Report displays a snapshot of device utilization and policy sync activity in the last 15 calendar days across organizational units. This report enables administrators to view device activity across different OUs, helping them better allocate hardware to high-needs areas.

How to Generate the Report

Users can generate this report through two distinct workflows:

  • From the Dashboard: Select 15-Day Activity by OU from the Aggregate reports drop-down list.
  • From Reports: Locate the 15-Day Activity by OU card and click See Report.

Understanding the Data Columns

The report uses a data table to provide the following information:

  • OU Path: The specific organizational unit path for the devices.
  • Active Devices: The number of devices that have been active in the last 15 days.
  • Avg Days Used Per Device: The average frequency of use per device within that OU.
  • Avg Total Minutes Used Per Device: This represents total active usage, including both on-campus and off-campus activity.
  • Devices Not Used: The count of devices with zero activity in the 15-day window.
  • No Policy Sync: The number of devices that have not performed a policy sync.

Understanding OU Data

By default, the report shows the total number of devices for the top-level OUs. You can expand any OU section to view the metrics for its sub-OUs in their respective rows.

Sorting the Data

You can quickly identify low-usage devices by sorting the data table. The report allows you to sort the rows using the following activity columns:

  • Avg Days Used Per Device
  • Avg Total Minutes Used Per Device
  • Devices Not Used

To sort, click on the column heading. Clicking the heading repeatedly toggles the sort order between ascending (lowest usage at the top) and descending.

For example, to identify devices that you might move, click the Devices Not Used column heading to float those OUs with the highest number of unused devices to the top of the table.
