Single User Activity Reporting

The Single User Report provides a consolidated view of a domain user’s device history. This report is essential for investigations, such as tracing device damage or identifying the source of malicious network behavior. It pulls data from two primary sources: the Google Admin console and Gopher Buddy.

Data Retention and Limitations

  • Scope: The report captures a 60-day or 100-session history, whichever limit is reached first.
  • Availability: This report is exclusive to domain users. Data is available only when Chrome device settings are configured to preserve local data.
  • Processing Time: Because Gopher for Chrome Premium must cross-reference data across all Chrome devices on your domain, the report may take a moment to generate.

Understanding the Report Fields

The report displays two distinct categories of data to provide a  view of user activity:

  • Gopher Buddy: Session Start, Duration, Private/Public IP, OS Version, and Device OU Path.
  • Admin console: Recentness of Use (1 = most recent), and OU Path.

How to Generate the Report

  1. Navigate to Dashboard
    OR
Reports in Gopher for Chrome Premium.
  2. Click See Report on the Single user report card.
  3. Select your search criteria (Name or User Email) from the drop-down menu.

Note: If the system can't find a user matching your search criteria, you will receive an error message. If this happens, check your spelling or try searching using a different identifier (such as their Email Address instead of Their First Name).

  4. Enter the user's information.
  5. Click Search.
  6. Wait for the Loading device sessions indicator to complete.

Note: For the Recentness of Use field, Google’s native data provides ordered logins rather than specific timestamps. A value of 1 indicates that the user was the most recent to log in to that device.
