Web App Manage Device Cache Overview

When you access the Gopher for Chrome web app, it opens to the Device Cache. Here, you can view data for and manage your devices. For example, the Device Cache filters make narrowing and viewing device state, AUE, and battery health easy.

Let's look at the different areas and numbers included in the Device Cache. Your view will look something like this:

Device State (filter)

Select/deselect a checkbox to include/exclude a state from the graphs. Statuses include: All, Active, Delinquent, Pre Provisioned, Deprovisioned, Disabled, Inactive, Return Arrived, Return Requested, Shipped, and Unknown.

This filter changes the data that appears in all the graphs. The counts to the right of each status are static and do not change.

Auto Update Expiry (filter)

Select/deselect a checkbox to include/exclude an AUE month range from the graphs. Statuses include: All, > 18 months, 12-18 months, 6-12 months, 3-6 months, and Expired.

This filter changes the data that appears in all the graphs. The counts to the right of each AUE month are static and do not change.

What Device Cache Information Works With Filters?

A key feature of the Device Cache is the ability to filter by Device State and Auto Update Expiry. Filtering makes it easy to narrow the graphs to show information for a subsection of your devices. When you filter, many fields update, but not all.

When you filter, here is what changes:

  • Device states and counts in the Device State graph
  • AUE months and counts in the Auto Update Expiry graph
  • Counts for each state in the Battery Health State graph

When you filter, here is what remains static:

  • Number of devices cached, located at the top right
  • Number of devices with telemetry data cached, located at the top right
  • In the filters, the total number of devices. This number appears at the right of each filter criterion.
