Working With Guardians in Student Explorer

From Student explorer, you can invite, email, and remove guardians for a student. When you invite a guardian, they receive an email at the address you enter for them. After accepting the invitation, they get a weekly summary of the student's progress with missing and upcoming work, and new teacher posts. From student explorer you can:

Invite Guardians

  1. Search for and select a student in Student explorer.
  2. If it does not open to the Student details tab, select that tab.
  3. At the right of the Guardians section, click the3-dots.

  4. Click Invite Guardians.
  5. Enter the guardian's email in the field provided.
  6. Click Invite. The guardian email now appears in the Guardians section.
  7. Repeat these steps for each guardian.

    The invited guardian receives an email invitation they need to accept to be a guardian and receive summaries.

Email Guardians

When you email a student's guardians, all added guardians receive the message. 

  1. Search for and select a student in Student explorer.
  2. If it does not open to the Student details tab, select that tab.
  3. At the right of the Guardians section, click the3-dots.
  4. Click Email Guardians.
  5. Enter the email message.
  6. Click Send.

Remove Guardians

  1. Search for and select a student in Student explorer.
  2. If it does not open to the Student details tab, select that tab.
  3. At the right of the Guardians section, click the3-dots.
  4. Click Remove Guardians.
  5. Check the checkbox for each guardian to remove.
