Create a New Collection
Delegated users can only create 12 collections and each collection is limited to 250 students.
To create a Collection:
- From Student explorer > Collections, click + (Add collection) at the top right. The Add students to Collection stepper opens.
- Choose New Collection to add students to.
- Click Next.
- Enter a Name for the collection.
- Enter a Description for the collection.
- Click Next.
- Choose how to add students; Paste accounts or Enter accounts individually.

Paste or enter the student accounts.
Select Paste accounts if you have a list of students.
Select Enter accounts individually to search for students.Note: When pasting accounts, each account must be on a separate line, not comma-separated.
- If you are pasting accounts, click Validate. Valid accounts appear at the right in the stepper. If there is an invalid account, it appears at the left in the stepper. Invalid accounts can be corrected and Validated or you can proceed without including these accounts.
OR
If you are entering accounts individually, enter the student's name or email. - Click Next.
- At Confirm, review the number of students being added to the collection.

Click Confirm. The Collections page returns with the new Collection in My Collections.
Note: Collection cards appear in alphabetical order.
View Summary Data for Students in a Collection
From collections, delegated users can open a Collection to view a summary and specific student data. The Classwork Summary appears at the top of the collections view. The Summary contains the number of students in the collection, the classwork total, the grade, and the counts for the different Classwork statuses.
Note: Depending on the number of students and Classwork in the collection, the collection view may take a few seconds to open.
To view a collection:
- From Collections, click View on a specific card.
- Select a date range from the timeframe drop-down at the top right to filter the view. Options include date ranges and prior academic years. Once a timeframe is selected, the Classwork Summary and grid automatically update.
Adding Additional Students to a Collection
As you use Collections, you will need to add and remove students. For existing Collections, you can add additional students and remove existing students.
- From Collections, click View on a specific card.
- Click + (Add student) at the top-right.
- Choose how to add students; Paste accounts or Enter accounts individually.
- Select Paste accounts if you have a list of students.
- Select Enter accounts individually to search for students.
- Paste or enter the student accounts.
Note: Each account must be on a separate line, not comma-separated. - Click Validate. Valid accounts appear at the right in the stepper. If there is an invalid account, it appears at the left in the stepper. Invalid accounts can be corrected and Validated or you can proceed without including these accounts.
- Click Next.
- At Confirm, review the number of students being added to the collection.
- Click Confirm. The Collections page returns with the new Collection in My Collections.
Filter the Classwork Summary to a Subset of Students
By default the collections summary includes data for all students in the collection. You can select a subsection of students in the collection to view aggregate data for only those students.
View Multiple Students
- From Collections, click View on a specific card.
- In the grid, check the select checkbox for those students whose data you want to view.
- Right-click over selected students.
- Click View data for selected students. The Classwork Summary updates to show data for only the selected students.
- To clear the filter,
- Click the X for Viewing data for # students at the top of the page.
- Right-click over selected students and click Clear applied filter.
View Individual Student
To view data for one student in the collection:
- From Collections, click View on a specific card.
- Right-click over a student.
- Click View data for [name]. The Classwork Summary updates to show data for only that student.
- To clear the filter,
- Click the X for Viewing data for # students at the top of the page.
- Right-click over selected students and click Clear applied filter.
Open Student Explorer View From a Collection
To view data for only one student in the Collection:
- From Collections, click View on a specific card.
- Right-click over a student.
- Click View student. The Student Explorer Student view opens.
- Click Back to return to the Classwork Summary.
Edit a Collection/Remove Students from a Collection
You can edit a collection and change the collection name and description and remove students from the collection.
- From Collections, check the select checkbox in a Collection card.
- Click the vertical ellipsis on the card and then click Edit.
- Change the Collection Name and Description.
- Click Save.
- To remove students, check the checkbox for students who should not be in the collection.
- Click Remove selected students at the top of the page.
- Click Confirm.
Delete a Collection
- From Collections, check the select checkbox in a Collection card.
- Click the vertical ellipsis on the card and then click Delete.
- From the confirmation prompt, click Delete Collection.
